Transportation
Maplewood is paradise for New York City commuters. New Jersey Transit’s Mid-Town Direct Train Line takes passengers straight to Penn Station in just 30 minutes. Although the NJ Transit parking lot – located by Maplewood Railroad Station – has limited parking spots, residents can join the jitney service for a small annual fee which transports commuters to and from the station. If these aren’t reasons to take the train, perhaps this is: the Maplewood Concierge Company – located at the train station – picks up dry cleaning, orders groceries and even takes cars to the mechanic while its clients are working in New York City! For those who wish to commute by bus, transportation to Port Authority Bus Terminal is available via bus routes 25, 37, 70 and 107 – all which pass through Maplewood, South Orange, Irvington, Newark, Union City and Newark Liberty International Airport. Want to get behind the wheel? Routes 24, 280, 124 and I-78 are just minutes away as well as the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. Air travelers are only a 20-minute drive from Newark Liberty National Airport.
